We just spent a couple days in Disney. I used a get away for business to warrent a last minute vacation for 3 days to Disney. We frequent Disney often…..infact before I became sick we would land there more then 4 times a year. (I was/am hooked by Mickey)

Besides excellent branding that is out of this world, I learned something NEW about Disney.

Disney has learned to except social media. Infact, Disney has always relied heavily on word of mouth and in my opinion social media tools such as Facebook, Twitter, blogs and such…. are just a mouth piece. Disney has in more then one circumstance embraced social media.

While I was looking for a place to stay around Disney I jumped on their site. Sure, the page content was magical in itself but….in the bottom right corner Disney has placed Trip Advisor ratings and customer links right to their guest’s opinions.

This amazed me. These things were obvious to me. Disney listens. Disney is confident in their product. Disney will take a negative and change it/FIX it.

Once again we are learning marketing from a mouse led company that knows that the best form of marketing IS customer service, listening and reaction. That is what I call a lesson in social media-whether or not your business is as big as the mouse or just as big as you.

A short buzz about what WE offer…….

Local Search Engine Ranking (refraining from Pay Per Click Campaigns) {limited number of contracts}

Web design services (Ecart, Blog, and Informative Interactive Websites-Considered Web 2.0)

Social Media Tool Hand holding (You are the owner of your business, the public wants you-Are you there?)

……and so much more

But this isn’t about us, this is about what

WE can DO for you

Times have changed. Advertising doesn’t work at the moment as well as it use to. Now there is Facebook, Youtube, Twitter not to mention Google and Yahoo. It all can be overwhelming, we understand. We have lived social media, we breath it, and we know it.

What hasn’t changed? The need for a relationship with your customers. If you don’t agree then maybe you should not be reading but WE believe in these times the foundations, relationships, and friendships you make today are your potential customers of tomorrow. Do you agree?

Whether you’re looking for a way to reach more clients, public relations is more important then ever. The techniques of participation in the social media sphere are as critical to success as traditional media & analyst relations. Sure, we still write press releases and pitch reports – we just do it differently: more effectively and more broadly. We have seen the change, we know the change.

It’s not just about MEDIA relations anymore. Don’t get me wrong, we still NEED the news but PR today is NOT about sending out faxes, letters, or emails to your contact press lists. PR today is about content creation and community relations. It’s about engaging. The time is now PUBLIC relations.

You need a public relations firm that knows how to interact with the blogosphere just as well as with the traditional media players.

Whether you need “a computer social media breakdown session“, bring a simple PR talk campaign online to bring your latest service or product to be the talk of the town, use Google to bring your clients {limited contracts available}, teach you to use Youtube to spark interest in your service or consumer person to person PR using the latest connection platforms (I.e. Facebook or Twitter)

BeeClicked.com knows what it takes for buzz to be created in your favor.

Let’s face it. Angels are few and far between. Sure, the people you have in your life are reflections of who you are, but sometimes, rare times, one person outshines the rest. Don’t know why. They just do. Actually, I take that back. I do know why. You see, an Angel is a giver. An unconditional giver. Which is why we feel so blessed when an Angel chooses us to bestow their gifts upon.

I call my Angel ‘Lady Luck.’ From the very first day I met her (via our online Boutique’s Contact Us Form), this woman, has been non-stop in promoting our online business. I’ve never solicited her and she just keeps coming back with way-out-of-the-box ideas that have proven beyond a shadow of a doubt to increase traffic to my site, which ultimately has translated into increased sales for our Organic Beauty Products.

By their very nature Angels prefer to be anonymous, never asking for anything in return. But since I’m not an Angel I’m going to boast, brag and divulge the name of mine. She’s just going to have to handle it. Come to think of it, it would be quite a treat to see an Angel blush, don’t you think?!

So, with all my soul, I give heartfelt thanks to my Angel, my Lady Luck, Elizabeth Norton.

It’s now real. What happens online now carries over into the real world and what happens in the real world is carried over into Facebook statuses and tweets. The line is no longer clear between fake and real. We are all intertwined and social media isn’t that scary place that we once knew.

So what do you do as a small business owner???

* 1. Make a presence online. Use Facebook and Twitter to be known (don’t be pushy or spammy)
* 2. Connect with an audience. Are you speaking to mothers? Is their a moms group online? If not are you willing to sponsor a mom’s site to get one up and running? What a great community service you would be providing. Is your audience senior citizens? Have you started groups outside your business for them to connect, offer classes at the local library to teach them technical skills and ask YOU advice? What a community service you would be giving enabling grandparents to talk online to their grandparents or helping moms connect to socialize with one another.
* Think out of the box. Don’t just think black and white and advertising. Let your brand be known for faithful service, community service and being of service.
* Enable other businesses to connect with yours. Establish relationships and partner with each other. Meet other “servers” in your area and serve the community together.
* Reach out to local bloggers. Sure, you might not know their audience or readers but would extending a free service in review be a risk not worth taking. Make friends with the voices of your community, discuss issues, listen to opinions, and be open to change. I would be very open to the idea if you extend your hand, you would be “the talk of their circle” for sure. With a small business no “circle” should go unturned. Reach out to local bloggers. Support, read, listen, comment and consider offering.

Social Media once known as the world of virtually is the world of actuality. Don’t be scared, be brave, be personable and be yourself

I am concerned with what a business person of our size thinks about the word friend on Facebook or follower on Twitter. Whether or not we agree with the change, Facebook is becoming marketbook and it’s possible Twitter is one of the best places to network and find clients indirectly.

Whether it is called followers, friends or what have you, social media has loosened the word friend to mean purely bringing together.

Perhaps, as we use our social media tools we should interpret friending as connecting. Connecting, saying high, reminiscing but not closing the door on that relationship. Ask yourself if you are a business owner or blogger these five questions before you decline an offer of “FRIENDSHIP.”

Is this person of interest interesting to YOU?

Can this person teach you something? (friend your competition-sure if you are confident in YOUR product)

Has this person been a customer and a customer that you would like to keep?

Could you see this person becoming a potential client?

How can I be of benefit to them if they are my friend? Should I warn them that their purpose for being on Facebook may be a different reason from your?

Facebook and Twitter use the word friend loosely. This is the world online which is very different from reality. Chris Brogan urges those to let the word “friend” to mean “connect with people on a social platform”. I urge you to realize that making a friend online or in person could be your next co-worker, client, sales person, or all of the above. When it comes to business don’t decline connections or burn bridges instead keep the door open.
